Each year I write a miracles list, a list to remind me of just how magical the universe is and that miracles happen all the time. This engages my mind in a habit of thinking about the world in that way and helps me to stay positive no matter what. The universe and my world and yours are magical and miraculous and once upon a time man knew this and gave thanks for it.

These days in our busy rushing lives we have forgotten this fact and replaced it with what we call logic, the problem with this kind of thinking is that it takes out that feeling of being magical and allows us to forget that miracles happen often. We need to remember what it like to believe in magic and to be able to tap into the wonder and awe we felt as children, I know that I have a need to believe in magic and as a lover of science I can tell you our world, our universe is wonderous, magical and miraculous and if you do not believe that you have never seen a flower open on a sunny morning, or a baby born, or heard an eagles cry on the wind.

January – My first real miracle come at the beginning of the year when I flew down to Victoria to help drive my daughter and her children the 1700 k’s home with me for the birth of her brothers baby, we renewed our friendship and created it on a whole new level, where she began to see me more as a friend than her just her mum. She was here to support me through some very tough moments and this cemented our new relationship and helped our bond grow stronger.

Then my beautiful grandson was born only to leave us again with a severe malformation of his little heart, while being tragic and believe me I grieved – his coming was a miracle. He changed something in this family and left an indelible mark like no other. He brought two families together for a while and changed many of the relationships in them. Most of all he gave his father, my son new life as he now pursues his dreams rather than believe he has to live a life he was not born to and believe me that is a miracle. Men can get so lost in the ‘I have to provide thing’ that they forget that they too are here to live their lives.

February – I formed a business with one of my friends who is brilliant website designer and a new friend, and we have been working and laughing and playing with life, and I got to know his dance partner and now have two great friends who I can see often as the business grows. Our business is taking off like we only imagined and now before one year is up we are expanding, taking on new people and adding on the new websites we dreamed of doing at ‘some time’ in the future, which turned out to be a lot earlier than we thought.

May – I finally got to meet my littlest granddaughter who is just beautiful, when my daughter, her new man and their new baby daughter came to live in Queensland from WA.

July - I also got to spend time getting to know my oldest granddaughter this year as she came to live with me for the last half of 2009, I had to turn into a Mum again with school runs, dance lessons and sleepovers, but it was fun and I know I got to have an influence on a little girl who so needed to learn she was special, perfect just as she is and allow her to grow as a young lady and I am so proud of her for the changes she made at 11. She is now a much more confident young lady.

My wonderful sons have both stepped up and out this year, with my 15 yo now getting through his certificates in IT so that he can take up a
traineeship with a friend who is a head honcho at a wellknown firm and who at 34 already owns his own home on the Gold Coast. This man has taken my son under his wing in the best possible way and now I know my sons future is assured with the massive step up this man is offering him. As well as a great friendship.

My older son who also happens to be a genius, has managed to get through his grief and move forward with his life and is now going out on a limb
turning a dream into action and building a website than is going to take the internet by storm as one of the most useful and innovative sites for businesses you could imagine. I cannot say more at this time as it is all under wraps, but I can say we at TZB have already signed on as users and we are positively tingling with excitement at the thought of launch day.

August – My son and his wife announced that they were once again pregnant and expecting a baby in March.

My mum survived cancer yet again, and after an operation and some really big life shifts in her life she is happier than I have seen her in a long while.

My brother got married, he has so wanted to find a partner and found a wonderful girl and their wedding was beautiful!

October – We got the news that my sons new baby has the same heart problem that took his brother from us at the beginning of the year. This time we were told it was even worse and we prepared to create a miracle before he was born by using healing thoughts and prayer and homeopathics on Mum until he is born. Their doctor (who knows me) blessed our efforts and told my daughter-in-law to just do whatever Annie said and so we began.

My daughter gave birth to another baby girl and named her for me, she is so beautiful and as they are now living here in Qld I will get to see her grow up.

I learned my Mum is cancer free again.

December – Now for the greatest miracle of all so far, the latest ultrasound of my grandson’s heart has obviously responded to the homeopathics and the healings!

The specialist who did the ultrasound as no way to categorise what is happening and although our little one is not yet out of danger where there was no hope now there is. He has no answers for what he is quietly calling a miracle –

“This little fighters heart is still growing?! we have no way to describe what is happening and even if nothing more happens for this heart, and as long as the heart contiues to grow in this way, this baby will live a fairly normal life with just two much easier operations than before. One to bypass the nonworking pulmonary artery and start pumping blood through that side of his heart and one to get that valve working and if his heart continues to grow and more changes are seen we cannot talk about tht at this time as we have no real answers for you.”

So right now we are not only quietly celebrating a miracle we know we are in the middle of a larger one. We will continue to send healing thoughts and continue with the homeopathic medications and perhaps our little one will be called a miracle baby by the time he is born. Perhaps all signs of his heart defect which was will be no more. All I can ask right now is that those of you who, like me believe in daily miracles will join us in our healing thoughts and prayers and in imagining our baby with his heart whole, complete and in perfect working order by the time he is born in March.

I believe in miracles! Miracles Happen!
