When was the last time you believed in something everyone else says is impossible? Do you ever? Or do you subscribe to the theory that impossible things are just impossible?
Or are you like me and believe that nothing is impossible?
I love the Lewis Carrolle books and like most great stories there are so many different life lessons inherent within it’s pages you could read them over and over and still get something new out of it. The part I am referring to today is a quote from his book ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass:
`I can’t believe that!’ said Alice.
`Can’t you?’ the Queen said in a pitying tone. `Try again: draw a long breath, and shut your eyes.’
Alice laughed. `There’s no use trying,’ she said; `one cannot believe impossible things.’`I daresay you haven’t had much practice,’ said the Queen. `When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.’
It is very important for us to continue to believe in the impossible. Why? Because without it we would be going nowhere. If someone had not believed we could fly – there would be no airoplanes … You know what I mean?
Now what about in your life? Are you able to flex that unused muscle (the imagination muscle) and believe that you too can achieve things you currently believe are impossible? I call this ‘imagining’ and as a professional imagineer I practice daily ![]()
People like Einstien also practiced this daily, they may not have used the same name as I do, but they definitely flexed their imagination on a daily basis. In fact Einstien stated that imagination was more important than intelligence!
My thought for you today is to start immediately to create your ‘castles in the air’ do it regularly, there is absolutely no point ‘keeping your feet firmly on the ground.’ You will never learn to fly that way. Believe you can fly, go on dare to fly!
This little girl did:
How far can you go?
Always test the limits and boundaries that have been set, even the ones set by you! If you know anything about quantum mechanics you will already know that our universe is shaped by the observer. Oh! wait that’s you! You shape your universe by your thoughts and emotions. You do it without thinking about it, you do it unconsciously.
How amazing would your life be if you shaped your universe consciously with intent to create what you really, really wanted? The secret is that ‘believing in the impossible’ is a prerequesite for this very act of creation
you really MUST believe in the impossible for it to become possible.
Go for it, I dare you to fly!
and imagine the infinite possibilities..
