I do love yoga and dancing both of these require a certain amount of flexibility to do well, and flexibility is important for me as my body once almost failed me, so I work at staying reasonably flexible.
Flexibility also means staying open to outcomes and opportunities that may or may not have been on your radar, perhaps they have come in a form that isn’t what you expected at all and you haven’t even recognised them as opportunities or outcomes. Perhaps you have been ready to commit to something and suddenly it seems to have changed direction or perhaps you expected to be going somewhere different from where you have ended up?
All these scenarios require flexibility of thought, belief and the ability to lose control without losing your mind –
Staying flexible is known in Chinese mindfulness training as being like the Bamboo – strong, resilient yet soft and yielding and is a very important part of staying in the moment and a lesson in remaining detatched enough to adjust your position on every level when needed.
Are you flexible enough to go with the flow?
Being in flow really does mean staying flexible to the changes that are going on around you every moment of every day and keeping your awareness expanded to take in what is going on around you so that you are ready for that course correction when it comes…
Now… bend and stretch… reach for the sky…
